Overview
I represented IIT Patna at Inter IIT Tech Meet 12.0 in the High Prep event by Trumio.ai. Our team tackled the AI-powered University Project Ecosystem Challenge, focusing on humanizing AI-generated texts to enhance student-alumni interactions.
Trumio’s Objective
Trumio aims to leverage AI and technological advancements to reshape the future of work by uniting the University Project Ecosystem for the benefit of all stakeholders:
Problem Statement
Trumio tasked participating teams with ideating, developing, and planning the go-to-market strategy for new applications that could be built on its University Project Ecosystem Platform and App Store (both mobile and web). Teams were to assume that Trumio would provide the necessary APIs and development/test environment for creating these apps.
Final UI Design
Research
We conducted a survey to gain insights into the current state of Trumio and explore future opportunities for the project. To make it easier for participants, we broke down complex questions into simpler ones, often using a 1 to 10 scale for responses.

Defining Key Features
The industry insights and survey analysis guided us to focus on developing an application with specific key features.
Meet the Users
Based on the Trumio’s objective and the insights gathered we came up 2 different user personas:
Ideation
Based on the survey results and the personas defined above our team camp up with 3 different app ideas that can be integrated with the Trumio ecosystem.
The Playground
Trumio Playground is a collaborative platform designed for students like Chirag to easily work together on projects and club activities. It has a Discord-like interface for easy navigation, and its key feature is API integration, bringing all essential tools together in one place for seamless collaboration across platforms.
Trumio Learn
Trumio Learn is ideal for students like Chirag who want to upskill and get mentorship from industry experts. The platform offers personalized learning paths and skill assessments, with gamified progress to boost engagement. Students receive continuous feedback, along with badges and certificates for their achievements.
Y.trumio (Why)
Y.Trumio, our main idea which focuses on collaboration and community building where the students like Chirag can interact and take guidance from their alumni like Akshay. Taking inspiration from Twitter and Stalk Overflow this platform provides a unique solution for all the problem that students can face in their project. Here Chirag can post any doubt he has and it would be resolved by our AI assistant and also by the experts like Akshay, from the alumni network who have more experience in the particular field. Chirag can also upload his project work and connect with the alumni from his institute.
Information Architeture
Integrating all the 3 ideas with the Trumio ecosystem and expanding in detail about the features of Y.trumio which was our main idea amongst the 3 proposed idea with which we decided to move forward. Here is the overall information architecture based on the research and ideation till now based on which we move forward.
Design Language
Ok so enough of research lets dive into the design. Following a set design language throughout the project improves the overall aesthetic quality of the it. This includes the fonts and color selection and overall UI design style.

Finally our team developed the most interesting feature of the Y.trumio platform that is getting the queries or the questions answered by the AI.

Key Takeaways
I learned a lot through this project. This was the first time I was working as a lead designer in a team, collaborating with other team members and managing the designers and taking design decisions keep everyone one on the same page was a great experience. Although we were not able to win a medal at Inter IIT Tech Meet, this project was an amazing learning experience and I really want to thank my team specially our team lead Rohan and my fellow designers Dhrutisundar and Kunjal.
